Our Story
Gideon Akpabu, a young agripreneur from Kpandai in the Northern Region dreamed of turning locally farmed cassava into export-ready products. Despite his passion, his business collapsed within two years; not because of a lack of vision, but due to limited finance, weak support, and poor market access. Sadly, Gideon’s experience mirrors that of thousands of young entrepreneurs.
Across Africa, over 70% of SMEs face the same fate as Gideon within five years. However, every SME that closes its doors represents more than just a failed business; it is a family’s livelihood lost, youth employment diminished, and Africa’s growth potential stalled. The urgency to act has never been greater and that gave birth to YUBEC.
YUBEC is a catalyst for building resilient African SMEs. We connect entrepreneurs to global opportunities by leveraging partnerships with investors, corporations, diplomatic institutions, and development organizations. Our tailored initiatives provide access to training, finance, markets, and technology. YUBEC exists to help African businesses thrive and drive the continent’s development.
